# Trying ask devlin with an event offer

> What an event offer gives a workspace, how long it lasts, and what stays afterwards.

- Plans: All plans
- Canonical: https://docs.devlin.ai/ask-devlin/event-offers

An event offer is a link devlin.ai shares at a live event, at an address that starts with `/try/`. Anyone signed in can claim it once. You can open the link before signing in to see what the offer gives, then sign in or create a free account to claim it.

## Claiming

The offer page asks for your role, your company and your team size, and optionally the performance problem you are trying to fix. Answers already saved on your workspace are filled in for you.

A claim always goes to your own workspace, even if you are working in an organization when you claim. After claiming you are switched into your own workspace and taken to ask devlin. If you only belong to organizations and have no workspace of your own, the page asks you to email devlin@devlin.ai instead.

## What a claim gives

While a claim is active on a plan outside the Core, Team, Enterprise plans, your workspace has:

- ask devlin
- one-time credits, shown on the offer page, that expire when the claim ends
- a monthly build cap raised to match those credits, unless an owner or admin has set the workspace's own cap, which still applies
- a spend-approval limit set by the offer
- uploads of source files for a single build

Source files uploaded on a claim are for the build they were added to. They are not saved to the library and cannot be added to a knowledge base. They are deleted 7 days after they were last used.

If your workspace is on the Core, Team, Enterprise plans, a claim adds the credits and nothing else. Your plan's own ask devlin access, build cap, spend-approval limit and source uploads stay as they are.

On a plan outside the Core, Team, Enterprise plans, while a claim is active, ask devlin shows a line with the days left in your trial and your credits left, with a link to plans.

## How long it lasts

The offer page shows the number of days, counted from the moment you claim. When they run out, on a plan outside the Core, Team, Enterprise plans:

- No new ask devlin message or build can start. Anything already running finishes.
- Unused credits from the claim are removed by the daily credit expiry run, so they can pay for learner sessions until it runs. Credits you bought are not affected.
- Everything you built stays in your workspace, and past conversations stay readable. In ask devlin, the message box is replaced by the date your trial ended and a link to plans.

On the Core, Team, Enterprise plans, ask devlin keeps working as your plan allows when the days run out. Only the claim's unused credits expire.

## Limits

Each inbox can claim one event offer, unless an offer is set to accept people who already used another one. An offer can be claimed only once by the same inbox. If you already used a trial on another offer, the page says so with the date you claimed it. Addresses that differ only in letter case, a plus tag, or dots in a Gmail address count as the same inbox. An offer stops taking claims when it closes, when every spot has been claimed, or while it is paused, and its page says which.
